Who we are

Startwide ("Startwide," "we," "us") operates startwide.com. For anything in this policy, contact hello@startwide.com.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you use a form on this site we collect what you enter:

• Build a team: your name, work email, company, role, and what you tell us about your project, preferred engagement types, disciplines, timeline and current team.
• Join the network: your name, email, location, LinkedIn or portfolio link, disciplines, capabilities, industries, ways of working, how you use AI, availability, any notes, and your consent.
• Startwide OS waitlist: your email and, if you add it, your company.
• Email: anything you send to a startwide.com address.

Information collected automatically. When you submit a form we record the date and time, the page, your IP address and your browser's user-agent string, to help us block spam and abuse. Our hosting provider also keeps standard request logs.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, how visitors arrived, approximate location, device and browser, and whether a form was submitted. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this. We don't send form contents to Google Analytics.

How we use it

• To reply to you and discuss a potential engagement.
• To match network members with work that fits their capabilities and availability.
• To tell waitlist members when Startwide OS is available.
• To run, secure and improve the site.
• To meet legal obligations.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

When we share it

• With clients, with your permission. We share a network member's profile with a prospective client only after talking it through with that member.
• With service providers that run the site and our email on our behalf: Amazon Web Services (hosting, form processing, data storage and email delivery), Forward Email (forwarding mail sent to startwide.com addresses), Google (analytics, and the inbox our mail is delivered to).
• When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Startwide or others.
• In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy.

How long we keep it

Network profiles are kept until you ask us to remove them. Company inquiries and waitlist sign-ups are kept as long as they're useful for the relationship, and no longer than three years after our last contact unless we're working together. Request logs are deleted after 90 days.

Your choices

• Access, correction and deletion. Email hello@startwide.com to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. We'll respond within 30 days.
• Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
• Email. If we email you about Startwide OS or network opportunities, you can ask us to stop at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to object to or restrict processing, or to lodge a complaint with a regulator. Contact us and we'll help.

Security

Submissions are sent over HTTPS and stored with access restricted to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive personal information such as health or financial details through the forms.

Where data is stored

Our systems are in the United States. If you contact us from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.

Children

This site is for businesses and working professionals. It isn't directed to anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the effective date. Significant changes will be called out on the site.
